Copperbeach Gift Socks

ParticularsYarn: Jitterbug Copperbeach
Pattern: Gentleman's Fancy Sock stitch pattern from Knitting Vintage Socks. Knit with a Picot Cuff, short row PGR heel, and a standard toe.
Recipient: the Trendy Librarian
The colors in this yarn are deceptive. I thought I was knitting a brown and black sock until I took my knitting outside. Turns out I was knitting a brown sock with a swirl of navy blue and spatterings of red and green.

Halloween Sock Yarn-Duets
I went on a bit of a Halloween Sock Yarn binge. Today I'll share my purchases from A Swell Yarn Shop.
I picked up Wicked,

The Eye of Knute socks are done. I love DK weight yarn, it turns into socks so fast!

Note the spiffy turn-down cuff!
Sock Particulars:
Yarn: Eye of Knute
Pattern: Pieced together by me. Magic Toe Cast-on, 52 stitch circumference, PGR heel over 60% of the stitches, with the ribbing and cuff pattern from a reversible sock in Cat Bordhi's New Pathways for Sock Knitter's book. I only did five rounds of ribbing in the coordinating solid before beginning the cuff pattern.
Notes: These socks are super soft and cushy. I had a bit of solid yarn leftover, and a lot of variegated yarn left over.
I am planning on doing something similar with the Pumpkin Caper yarn, using the rib in the Waffle Rib pattern from Sensation Knitted socks.
The Wicked socks are going to have to wait awhile because I really want to use the Summer of Love Lace sock pattern from this years Socks that Rock club.
I'll leave you with a picture of the rare cave-dwelling Pomeranian.
Ominous little bugger, ain't she?

Let's try this again, shall we?
I confess, I have been a lax blogger. Ok, confession over, time to move on.
Wait! I have another confession. I like sock yarn clubs.
I like Yarn Pirate's Booty Club so much that am signed up for the second round.
I finished my Calamity socks late Friday night.
Particulars: Calamity Sock yarn from Yarn Pirate Booty Club
Magic Cast-on Toe, stockinette foot with a PGR heel on 60% of the stitches, and the Undulating Ribs pattern from Favorite Socks.

I also joined chewy Spaghetti's Happy Holidays Sock Club.
I like the Spooky 07 club color. I haven't decided what pattern to use. In my defense I did just finish a green and purple sock so it may be a while before I am ready to knit this sock.
I also signed up for Interlacements Interactive Sock Gang, in the Tiny Toes weight. Below, is the September 2007 color. The picture is not quite accurate. That blue color you see peeping out from between the pink and orangey-brown is actually violet and the dark color to the left is teal.

I will not mention my membership in the Loopy Ewe sock club. Four sock clubs may actually be too many...
All this confessing has worn me out. I am going to go work on my Sockina Cotton sock until I feel better.

Sock-In_A-Day Challenge
Yarn: Tainted Love, Stone Barn FibersGauge: 9sts/inch on size 0 DPNs
Pattern: Wendy's Feather & Fan Socks
Modifications: I used a heel flap
Source: The Loopy Ewe!
I am participating in Everwhelming Liz's Sock-In-A-Day challenge, which is the driving force behind me getting in gear and starting a blog. I started my sock Saturday, finished Tuesday, clocking 16 hours of sock knitting time. Apparently my hand stamina wears out at 4 hours of knitting as I was averaging 4 hours each day. I am going to make this my official entry but I have tentative plans to knit a sock during the Heroes marathon on Sci-Fi this Saturday.
Now for a gratuitous fur-baby picture:

What's this?
This blog is about my sock knitting obsession, prolific fiction reading, and the joy of exercise.
